Trickplay - alleycat - 2024-11-04 Where can I find infomation about "Trickplay"? I'm not sure what it's used for and I'm not finding anything when I search the documentation? RE: Trickplay - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-05 Trickplays are the images you see when you hover your mouse over the time line. Normally Jellyfin only generates one image every {insert long interval I can't remember}. But trickplay generates a lot more images, one every few seconds, so you have a better idea of what scene you are in. RE: Trickplay - dontcryforme - 2024-11-06 Now that Android TV is moving into the direction of supporting Trickplay, I would like to enable that again. However I don't want to generate it for all my existing media. I remember with Jellyscrub (when using the web-ui) if the media did not have a Trickplay extracted, it would extract it while playing, is this still the case or do I have to generate it for all the media? However, there is a new option to generate them only by using keyframes. What this means is that your trickplays will generate at a really fast rate (much faster than before when using GPU). The draw back to this is that the timestamps for them can be inaccurate. You can also now save them along your media files again like before. To clarify this, all media within a library. The trickplay setting can be enabled/disabled per library. But everything within that library will get trickplays when it is enabled. Setting can be found under Dashboard > Playback > Trickplay RE: Trickplay - alleycat - 2024-11-07 (2024-11-06, 07:06 AM)Efficient_Good_5784 Wrote:(2024-11-06, 06:48 AM)dontcryforme Wrote: Now that Android TV is moving into the direction of supporting Trickplay, I would like to enable that again. If Trickplay is turned on in the Dashboard and my samba share media is read only, does it still work? RE: Trickplay - theguymadmax - 2024-11-07 By default, trickplay files are saved in the /metadata/library folder. However, you can choose to save them alongside your media by enabling the option when configuring trickplay in your library. If you don't have write access, don't enable the option to save trickplay images next to your media. |
