Question regarding forced subtitles - marcusnyder - 2024-11-06 I have a few movies where there are short foreign parts that need forced subtitles. Before moving to Jellyfin I would download the subtitles into a local .srt file but I see that there is a OpenSubtitles plugin available for Jellyfin. Before I went to the trouble of setting it up and registering for an account I thought I would ask on here if it's able to forces subtitles for foreign parts only or is it more setup to load subtitles for all dialogue? slope game Thanks. RE: Question regarding forced subtitles - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-06 AFAIK, Opensubtitles does not have foreign language only subtitles. You CAN have external forced subtitles, but not from Opensubtitles. https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/external-files/#naming-flags RE: Question regarding forced subtitles - evelynwang - 2025-06-08 Currently, Jellyfin's OpenSubtitles plugin primarily downloads full subtitles for the entire movie rather than automatically extracting forced subtitles for foreign-language parts onlygrade calculatorYou can still manually download .srt files from OpenSubtitles and enable the "forced" option in Jellyfin, though this is more tedious than your previous method. For an automated solution, you might want to try Bazarr (a subtitle management tool) integrated with Jellyfin to filter subtitles by context. |
