Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - makem - 2024-11-08 I am able to 'acquire' subtitles in a language, eg. English, and convert it to Mandarin for a series. I can get Jellyfin to recognise the file by adding .zh.hi prior to the '.srt'. The file is then detected in Jellyfin and displayed. eg Better Call Saul.zh.hi.srt If I do the same for a movie English .srt Jellyfin does not detect it. eg Oddity.zh.hi.srt does not get detected Is there a different 'identifier' for movies? RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - theguymadmax - 2024-11-08 Movies and TV shows follow the same naming convention. Ensure that your subtitle matches the filename, for example: /Oddity (2024) Oddity.1080p.mkv Oddity.1080p.chi.hi.srt RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - makem - 2024-11-08 (2024-11-08, 04:34 AM)theguymadmax Wrote: Movies and TV shows follow the same naming convention. You are suggesting I think, that the .zh.hi should work for both as I have ensured that the .srt name matches exactly the movie name. However, it is not seen. Have you any suggestion as to where I could be going wrong with movies? It is not just one movie, it is all. eg. Obsession 2019 1080p BluRay x264-OFT.mkv Obsession 2019 1080p BluRay x264-OFT.zh.hi.srt I am using a NAS and upload the .srt file directly to the same directory in which the movie name is situated. This works for any series. I notice that you use .chi.hi.srt. Bazarr which I use the find subtitles uses zh. I will try with chi. Your interest is appreciated. Edit: .chi did not work either RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-08 Try removing x264-OFT from the file names of both the subtitles and movie. This is what I tried: Obsession 2019 1080p BluRay.mkv Obsession 2019 1080p BluRay.chi.srt This was the result when played on my TV: Playback Error Playback failed because the media is not supported by the client. RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-08 I'm assuming you rescanned after changing the file name? I found a github issue on this and both "chi" and "zh" are valid tags. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/6302#issuecomment-1694179504 RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - makem - 2024-11-08 I stopped and then re-started Jellyfin in the NAS before playing it on the TV RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-08 I don't think restarting jellyfin triggers a library scan. RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - makem - 2024-11-08 . I don't see a way to to perform a library scan via the TV or via Unraid I found that if you run Jellyfin on PC and goto Dashboard there is a Scan All Libraries button RE: Chinese subtitles > Jellyfin - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-08 You'd need to access the server from a browser, Jellyfin Media Player, or one of our mobile apps and initiate a scan in the dashboard. |
