how to deal with "serial" films - monocle - 2024-11-10 Right now I'm thinking about "Les Vampires", the ten part serial from 1915. Is it a "show"? In that case I should name them like "shows/les-vampires.1915/the-severed-head.s01e01.mp4" or should it be ten files in a directory in my "films" category, or maybe I make it into ten separate films (and then maybe a playlist)? I'm probably going to want "Flash Gordon" (1936) and "Batman" (1943) in the future, so this is not a one-off issue for me. I value metadata and organization but I constantly struggle with Jellyfin. Either the organization is not well thought out for corner cases or else the way to organize things has not been well explained. TheMovieDB lists it as a movie. Meanwhile, TheTVDB lists it as a series. If listing as a movie then use the parts formatting: Movie (1915) Movie (1915) part 1.ext Movie (1915) part 2.ext Movie (1915) part 3.ext RE: how to deal with "serial" films - monocle - 2024-11-11 That seems to work. |
