Do heavy processing task on another PC? - dmitsuki - 2024-11-20 I run jellyfin on a patato. Le patato. It's basically a Pi 3. First task like scanning the entire library are dreadfully slow. That's expected given the hardware. Is it possible to offload that first task to another PC somehow (IE install jellyfin on my main pc, do the first scan, transfer it to the patato, and let the patato do the small updates) RE: Do heavy processing task on another PC? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-20 If you are using docker, just make a copy of the /config and /cache folder from one host to the other (while Jellyfin is not running). RE: Do heavy processing task on another PC? - Fate - 2024-11-20 yeah to offload to another pc: - copy data - sell pi3 - buy n100 /s I don't see the point when n100 cost 100$ as TDp said docker is probably your best bet... I will get intel when I'm not broke but for now I don't even need transcode (Yesterday, 04:46 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: If you are using docker, just make a copy of the /config and /cache folder from one host to the other (while Jellyfin is not running). I'm using arch (btw). Where are those folders located on the filesystem? RE: Do heavy processing task on another PC? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-11-20 If it is just installed directly in arch, /var/lib/jellyfin, /etc/jellyfin, and /var/cache/jellyfin are the three directories you would need to mirror. And make sure that your media is located in the same place on both hosts. RE: Do heavy processing task on another PC? - dmitsuki - 2024-11-20 Yep that's it, thank you! |
