Folder vs. Filename structure - wenzelja - 2024-11-25

So far I've been structuring my library as such, and there have been no issues:

Jellyfin Library
|____Movies
     |____Awesome Movie (2011) [imdbid-tt999999]
          |____Awesome Movie (2011) [imdbid-tt999999].mkv
          |____Awesome Movie (2011) [imdbid-tt999999] - Director's Cut.mkv

Should I be naming both the folder and file the same, or is it more important to have the file with the IMDB ID string, and then the folder is just "Awesome Movie (2011)"?  It works the way I have it, but just trying to be more efficient in my structuring.

1) Is the library pointed at the "Movies" folder?
2) For the "versions" syntax to work the file names need to be exactly the same as the folder name prior to the dash, including any IMDB/TMDB IDs. So your example would be correct.

@TheDreadPirate
So, no changes to what I'm already doing. Thank you.
