Can't disable subtitles/closed captions on IPTV stream - iOS mobile app - syd_reddit - 2024-11-29
Hi - I can't disable subtitles on an iPad running Jellyfin Mobile when streaming IPTV.
Have tried Only Forced, None, Smart - makes no difference.
I suspect as it's IPTV stream, it's actually Closed Captions that are being displayed, and there doesn't seem to be a setting to enable or disable CC.
Can anyone assist?

Are the subtitles burned in? Or forced? Either one, I'm not sure what can be done.

I have this problem with iptv stream on DVR. When watching live TV it is fine. I've set subtitles to none and spent hours with ChaGPT trying to figure it out. I would think this is happening to many other people too? I don't know if it is a bug or I'm stupid. I know Jellyfin uses it's own ffmeg instance version so maybe.......?
