Language poster - Sergiomg - 2024-12-03 Good morning, I have already looked on Google and have seen users with the same problem. I use several metadata providers, tmdb as main provider for movies and tvdb for tv shows but the best provider for cover images is TMDB because it is the one that has more images in different languages, in my case I need Spanish. With movies in general TMDB downloads me all the posters in Spanish but not with tvshows, sometimes yes and sometimes no, in many occasions it takes posters without text and without language. If I set TVDB as the main image provider in TVSHOWS it downloads all the images with English cover, but at least I know better what series it is even if it is in English. I wonder if there is already a solution for TMDB, all metadata and all settings are for Spanish, Spain and has a certain error rate that does not occur with movies, is there any way to fix it so that in tvshows always download in Spanish? I have made tests and sometimes it picks up covers without language or text even if there is an option in Spanish, is there any way that TMDB picks up the cover in Spanish and if it does not work well or fails, choose the cover in English at least? RE: Language poster - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-03 For the shows that fail, did you check on TMDB's website if they have an image available in Spanish? Prior to April, TMDB is supposed to failback to English if the primary language isn't available. But, IIRC, TMDB made an API change that breaks "fallback" languages. The result is that if your primary language isn't available, it just returns nothing. RE: Language poster - Sergiomg - 2024-12-03 Hello, thanks for your answer. Yes there are images in Spanish, but sometimes for some reason it just decides not to choose them. I have noticed that if I manually update the metadata with the replacement of all the images, it picks correctly the images in Spanish, but if it scans new media it does not do it well. What I have done today is activate the option to update the metadata of the library I am interested in each 30 days, do you know if with this function it also updates the images? because this way even if it is not perfect I can fix it. Thank you RE: Language poster - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-03 I don't use the metadata update function, but I believe it updates RottenTomato ratings and things like that. I'm not sure what else, if anything, it auto-updates. |
