Audio dialogues not working on android client - Netflix - 2024-12-04

My android client was working fine but today I tried to disable transcoding (via Users > unchecking those transcoding option) but it gave me some problems like some media not playing on my android device, voice/dialogues not coming in movies, so I undo all the changes that I had made, but the problem of only background music playing and not dialogue/voice during movie persisted.

What I have done so far-
I have multiple times tried to enable/disable the settings that I had changed.
Re-installed android client, restarted server.
Manually setting audio setting to stereo in playback settings.

But nothing seems to work

Can you share your jellyfin logs via pastebin?

Are you allowing remote connections?

I am not sure, I am using tailscale to connect, and was also able to connect remotely to the server on other network using tailscale.

[EDIT] Remote connections are allowed for the user account

OK. Is the Jellyfin app configured to use the web player or integrated player?

Can you share the media info for this video? And what model Android phone you have?

I don't you what you mean by this, I am using jellyfin integrated player on my android device.

Here is the media info of the file - Media info ; Android version is 14 (stock android custom rom)
I am having problem in all the files with 5.1 channels (or basically >2 channels), files with 2 channels runs fine and give audio for dialogues, but with >2 channels it doesn't give audio to dialogue. I have manually set audio output to stereo, but it doesn't work. Again, even the files with 5.1 were playing fine (with Auto settings in the audio output option) before I unchecked those 4 transcoding options in the user settings, I re-enabled them but its still broken.

In the Jellyfin app click on your profile icon and then "Client Settings". There will be an option to choose which playback engine you use. Web player or integrated player. You SHOULD be using the integrated player. It sounds like you are currently using the web player, which doesn't properly downmix the audio. The center channel has all the dialogue and isn't being split into left and right.

Changed the settings and it worked, I guess it was the default configuration and I didn't change. Thanks a lot for the help, you are awesome, have a great day!!
