Jellyfin blocked by portmaster - username69 - 2024-12-07

Hi guys,

I just installed Jellyfin from flatpak repo. Can't see it on LAN. I think Portmaster may block it.

Any ideas how to setup PM for jellyfin?

Thx

Do you mean the Jellyfin server flatpak? If so, uninstall it. It is a community maintained package that hasn't been updated in a year. Servers shouldn't be run on flatpaks anyway.

What distro are you using?

I tried and still can't see on LAN Jellyfin and can't see Ollama.

Did you open ports in the host firewall? What distro are you using? Even without portmaster, most linux distros require you open port 8096.

RE: Jellyfin blocked by portmaster - username69 - 2024-12-08

I opened the port sudo ufw allow 8096, allowing traffic to flow through.

I also configured the router to forward port 8096 My system is Zorin OS.

Should I restart the router to ensure it's functioning correctly?

Your router doesn't matter unless you are trying to setup remote access.

You added the rule, but is ufw enabled? "sudo ufw status". If UFW is not enabled, any rules you add to it aren't applied.

I allowed in ufw port 3000 and 8096 and works. I thought when Portmaster is working, ufw is disabled.
