Display file names on episodes - Wraaath - 2023-09-08 Hey./ Been using Jellyfin for a little while and have never been able to find a way to get Jellyfin to display the file names instead of the names from the metadata providers. In my case I'm watching One Pace, a community edit of One Piece, and would like to actually see the filenames displayed. This is of course because the providers like TMDb doesn't have One Pace cataloged. But even without identifying the show, episodes are just named "[One Pace" and have the same thumbnails, so it makes it impossible to differentiate the episodes. I saw there was an option for embedded metadata "titles", but my rips don't have that, and I would prefer not to individually add titles for all 900+ episodes. So is there a solution, or is this a feature coming? /Thanks RE: Display file names on episodes - TheDreadPirate - 2023-09-08 Jellyfin using the metadata providers name is by design. You can manually edit the metadata and then lock it down to prevent changes during future scans or you can use NFO files. RE: Display file names on episodes - Wraaath - 2023-09-08 I know that the metadata tagging is a feature by design. I just think it would be great if you could choose cases where it should be turned off. Saw this as a suggestion in multiple Reddit posts, and it makes a lot of sense. For content not on the metadata providers, we should be able to just have them served like normal files. I guess I'll have to make a script or something for editing the metadata in the files. |
