4k Playback Crash - nonprofitparrot - 2024-12-12 The jellyfin client on my google tv crashes very consistently 0-4 seconds into any 4k content. The toast says "Player error, retrying" followed by "Too many errors, giving up". The content plays fine on my laptop so I think it might be a transcoding issue? I'm using the ghcr.io/linuxserver/jellfyin docker image via podman on nixos. I have hardware acceleration enabled according to the documentation for my AMD machine. I've tried a number of different configuration options, as well as disabling it all together. I'm pretty sure I've passed the device into the container properly. I've checked out the logs a few times but I don't see anything that looks like an error. I've attached some logs, please let me know if you see anything I could investigate. BUT exoplayer, the playback engine built into Android, is supposed to fallback to profile 8.1 or HDR10. It is a known bug with Google that exoplayer doesn't actually fallback to these compatible HDR profiles. Your options are to force transcoding or to remove the Dolby Vision metadata, leaving the base HDR10 layer. https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-converting-dolby-vision-to-hdr10 RE: 4k Playback Crash - nonprofitparrot - 2024-12-14 @TheDreadPirate thanks, I'll check that out! |
