Jellyfin on Synology NAS - Page Not Found - SquishySquash - 2024-12-12 Hello, I've been running Jellyfin sucessfully on my laptop as I was trying out its capabilities and now that I have a new NAS Synology DS423+ i wanted to run Jellyfin on it. I followed this guide step by step https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/tutorial/How_to_transfer_video_files_from_Video_Station_to_Jellyfin and went with the "Install via Container Manager" route. Installation went witout hiccups. I configured everything just as shown in the guide. I can see in Container Manager that Jellyfin is running. Here are screenshots of container settings https://imgur.com/a/AczHSrE But once i type http://192.168.32.32:8096/ in address browser (i access NAS with http://192.168.32.32:5000/) it will show the classical "Page not found" browser error. I tried rebooting NAS, tried using different browser and browser in incognito mode (to make sure its not cache browser error or addon interference) but its always the same.Need help as im absolutely confused why its not wroking even if i did everything step by step. My NAS in new so all the settings are pretty much just like out of the box. I can access NAS so of course I'am within same network. My NAS Firewall is turned off right now. But I was trying different things and where previously during Jellyfin container installation i set network mode to BRIDGE - this is when it did not work - i retraid jellyfin installation and set the network mode to host and now its working as intended. Now I'm wondering whether i should stick to host mode (im not using DLNA) or keep it in bridge mode. If so, how do i make it work in bridge mode? RE: Jellyfin on Synology NAS - Page Not Found - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-12 Do you know if the way you have port 8096 configured is "exposing" the port or if its "publishing" the port? RE: Jellyfin on Synology NAS - Page Not Found - SquishySquash - 2024-12-12 Port is configured as exposed (2024-12-12, 09:12 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: Do you know if the way you have port 8096 configured is "exposing" the port or if its "publishing" the port? RE: Jellyfin on Synology NAS - Page Not Found - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-12-13 I looked at your screenshots. You didn't specify the port correctly. Stop the Jellyfin container, go to its settings and add "8096" to where it says "Local Port" (nested under "Port Settings"), then restart it. If it worked before when you selected Host networking instead of bridge, it's because you didn't need to specify the port for host mode. With bridge mode, you do. And since you are missing the local port, you can't access it. |
