Unreferenced People metadata - bakadori. - 2024-12-16 Hello! I've read that unreferenced metadata should be cleared inmediatly, yet I have entries in Server/metadata/People that have no reference in my libraries. Is there a way to forcefully purge all unreferenced people metadata? Would it be easier to delete everything in that folder and scan for missing metadata in all my libraries? Thanks! Jellyfin 10.10.3 Windows 10 RE: Unreferenced People metadata - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-12-16 Do you delete videos outside of Jellyfin? Most metadata should be cleared if you do so from within Jellyfin instead of outside of it. RE: Unreferenced People metadata - bakadori. - 2024-12-16 Oh. That makes all the sense. Yes, I don't use Jellyfin to add or delete files, just to browse and stream. I probably need to include that step from now on. Anyway, current status is I probably have a LOT of unreferenced people. I understand that a single library re-scan can't trigger a metadata deletion, since a person can be referenced in a different library. I guess there's no way for Jellyfin to cross-reference people and deleted unused. I think I'm going to trash everyone in the people folder and re-scan everything. I always thought that it'd be neat to be able to browse People by name and type, but that's a completely different story I suppose... RE: Unreferenced People metadata - bakadori. - 2024-12-18 No, wait. Surely deleting one film (from Jellyfin) doesn't delete the people credited from the metadata folder, since other films might use them. So anyway you're doomed with an ever-growing People folder. Or, if it does delete it, it must cross reference to make sure that no library is making use of that person entry. In any case, is there anyway to trigger a metadata/People folder clean up? Or is the only option to delete all subfolders manually and refresh all libraries? |
