Library Pointed to External Drives - BlueberryJelly - 2024-12-19

I just installed Jellyfin on my Qnap-TS233 and during the configuration it allows me to add folders to my library.

Everything appears to be unique to the Qnap. I do not see a means to point to sources outside of it.

I have three separate NAS units where all my Media is stored.

Is there a means to add external sources to the Jellyfin Media?

For example, I run three NAS units and Kodi allows me to point to all three for streaming purposes.

I started on this journey from there because I am looking for a better solution for my Android tablet. I am hoping the client for the tablet is better than Kodi's.

I was really hoping I could leave the bulk of my setup intact and just point Jellyfin to my current sources. My Qnap NAS is not big enough to hold my entire library.

Thank you for your help.

I'm assuming that QNAP is running Jellyfin in a container. If so, you need to map host or network paths into the container.

Thank you, but no. It was installed without being in a container. This video provided the means to do so fairly easy.

You'd have to find a means of mounting those external shares within QNAP or within the Jellyfin "app" config in QNAP. Unfortunately, we dont have any documentation for QNAP and I've never used a QNAP device.

Maybe this documentation can get you going down the right path?
