Goto plugins? - Verme - 2024-12-19
Hi folks, been a Plex guy for a while, but I also have Jellyfin running in parallel incase anything happens/wanna test it out. Being fairly new, I'm wondering about the plugin system, everything else I think I have configured and working properly (maybe iptv will be another post). I was wondering if there is any goto's/standard plugins which everyone installs right away without even thinking about it? Maybe like if you have unraid, you install the community apps etc. I'm not sure what would be missing, but I figure I'd ask.. like is there another repository everyone uses cause it's awesome? Do you 'need' to install any plugins for quality of life purposes? Thanks in advance.

LrcLib - grabs music lyrics
Playback reporting - For me I install it for the additional log messages it provides. I also use it to analyze the playback method my various clients are using (transcode vs direct play)
TVDB - backup metadata provider when TMDB doesn't have a particular episode order I want for a show
Cover Art Archive - adds Musicbrainz as an image source if images aren't embedded in the music
Subtitle Extract - pre-extracts subtitle tracks for faster playback (when clients don't support embedded subtitles)
Open Subtitles - downloads subtitles if your content didn't come with subtitles.
