Manual recording Live TV - webtron - 2024-12-21
I have TVheadend feed live tv in to jellyfin and can record on schedule but I also have a live feed from a steaming service that I've converted to an mpeg2 tv stream that I can watch on any tv in the house. Because there is no tv guide etc I am unable to schedule a recoding of any of this. Is there a way to manually select the channel and just click record?

Jellyfin cannot record a live TV stream with out TV guide data of some kind. You could probably fake some TV guide data for this stream. Use some rando XML TV guide, modify it, map your channel to this fake guide. You'd need to regularly update the dates and times in the fake guide data.

Is there no way to have a manual select channel with a record now button? Seems the functions underlying code must be there if it can be triggered by the TV guide data.

I don't know the reasoning behind requiring TV guide data, but having some sort of TV guide data is not optional for recording live TV.
