Library collection organization. - Steven Marshall - 2024-12-21

Hello!

I apologize if this has been asked before, I'm struggling to find a sure fire answer to this particular context..

I have a movies library and I've been creating collections automatically (thank you devs 🙏). But now I have several collections that I feel like should be in another collection as a larger general scope. The thing I was expecting is that a collection, when assigned to a new/existing collection would not be displayed on the librarie's root level anymore..

For example..

I have collected everything MCU. I've got all of my ant-mans in it's own collection, same with avengers, black panther, etc. These all belong to their own collection entity on the movie library view..
Well, after having several of those collections and in the attempt of organizing the list better imho, I thought I could make a over arching mcu collection and thus move the previously mentioned collections under this one new collection and not have them displayed on the movies library page except for the singular mcu collection.

So it would go from something like:
Movies
    - Ant-Man Collection
        - movie one
        ...
    - Avengers Collection
    ...
    - MCU Collection
        - Ant-Man Collection (Again)

To something more like:

Movies
    - MCU Collection
        - Ant-Man Collection
            - movie one
            ...
        - Avengers Collection
        ...
    ...

So on and so forth?

I'd appreciate any help in making this organization work. 😅

AFAIK, Jellyfin cannot nest collections. Nor can I think of a way to achieve what you're asking for.

Maybe enabling folder view?
