Android TV Client issue - Dom_Christo - 2024-12-22

Hi All,

Server version: 10.11.0
Docker Image: jellyfin:2024121605
Synology NAS DS415+

Hardware acceleration set to None

Seem to have playback issues isolated to Android TV Client with some files.
Phone (android client) & Windows web client seem to be OK, casting from Phone to TV seems to work for some files, not for others.

On the TV when selecting the file to play it gives an error:
Player error encountered. Will re-try
Too many errors. Give up

Here is what I believer to be the logs, please advise if not.

Please use a stable version of Jellyfin.  10.11 is the current unstable/future release of Jellyfin, it is unsupported, and things will break.  If you must stick with 10.11, report this issue on github so that it can, potentially, be fixed in a future unstable build.

Thanks for the reply, what would be considered the latest stable version?
This one?
docker pull jellyfin/jellyfin:latest

Yes. That tag should pull 10.10.3. FYI, you likely need to start fresh since the database cannot be downgraded.

I have exactly same issue https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-issue-playing-some-iptv-channels-on-android-tv Its also been reported on GitHub https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/issues/4305 Dont bother downgrading untill it's fixed as you will just waste time.

Thanks for this, saved me some time.
Was doing some testing last night, downloaded VLC on the TV last night, set Jellyfin app to use an external player. seems to work fine for the most part.
