HEVC not worked - Dade_Murphy - 2024-12-23 Hey, everybody. I'm not very knowledgeable about the issue. Please help a loser to understand this issue. I have a Synology 920. I have been running Jellyfin version 10.10.3 for a long time. I recently upgraded to this version and I can't show HEVC movies anymore, even though they were working fine before. I tried all the settings. Nothing helps. A fatal error occurs when playing on any device. I have hardware acceleration selected VA API. If I select Video4Linux2. They will start showing but it loads the CPU 100%. I don't like this. It used to show without that load. What should I do? I am attaching the error logs. RE: HEVC not worked - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-23 How did you install Jellyfin? Your system isn't using jellyfin-ffmpeg. It's using plain ffmpeg. FFmpeg 7 is up and running RE: HEVC not worked - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-24 Try unchecking "HEVC 10-bit" in the Jellyfin dashboard. Your CPU SHOULD support that, but the error message "No support for codec hevc profile 2" implies that it doesn't actually support it. Unchecking it would cause it to decode on the CPU. Dashboard > Playback > Transcoding And switch hardware acceleration back to QSV or VAAPI. When I uncheck the HEVC 10bit checkbox the video plays, but the CPU immediately loads at 100%. Regardless of whether I choose VAAPI or QSV. Is this safe for my processor? RE: HEVC not worked - TheDreadPirate - 2024-12-24 It is going to 100% because the CPU is decoding the video and probably transcoding the audio. 100% CPU usage does not hurt the CPU as long as it is sufficiently cooled. |
