Issues after upgrading Jellyfin for Android TV 0.18 - Александър Чеширов - 2024-12-25 I hadn't used Jellyfin on my Chromecast for about a month, and today I noticed something strange. First, the subtitles had changed. - Their size was smaller than before (though I fixed this easily by increasing it in the settings). - More importantly, their position was higher up. I always set subtitles to be as close to the bottom of the screen as possible because I prefer them in that location. However, the setting for this is now gone, so I can’t adjust their position anymore. Second, videos are taking much longer to load compared to before. It now takes about 20–30 seconds for playback to start. I suspect this issue is related to the subtitle changes because videos without embedded subtitles seem to load quickly. Third, please add an option to select the resolution in the client. Some of my devices support 4K, while others only go up to Full HD. For example, if I set the bitrate for Full HD devices to 10 Mbps, it’s clear where the issue arises. A 10 Mbps bitrate at Full HD offers much higher quality than the same bitrate at 4K. So, if Jellyfin only transcodes the bitrate but retains the resolution, the result is lower quality overall. RE: Issues after upgrading Jellyfin for Android TV 0.18 - Александър Чеширов - 2024-12-25 It's me again. I did some testing, and regarding point 3 about the resolution, I think Jellyfin is already resizing correctly. So, let's say there's no issue there. However, the other two points still remain, and today I even discovered a new problem... For some reason, it randomly shows subtitles in a different language or mixes them with the ones I’ve selected. Sometimes it alternates between them, or even displays both at the same time. I’m attaching a screenshot: The word "CONSERJERIA" shouldn’t appear at all - it’s not even in the .srt file with my subtitles, which is located in the folder with the episode and is the one I choosed into Jellyfin player. And no, this word is not hardcoded in the video, because if I disable the subtitles entirely it disappear too. ![]() I'll look for a way to roll back to an older version because this one is driving me crazy. It's incredibly unusable, unfortunately. ![]() |
