Forced Subtitles Not Showing. - MadMaudlin - 2025-01-01
I have show subtitles set to always on, but while regular subtitles play fine (albeit not with the custom settings I put in) the forced subtitles don't show at all.
I'm using the Jellyfin app on a Roku Stick.
Subtitle Settings:
Prefered Language: English
Subtitle Mode: Always Play
Burn Subtitles: All
Always burn subtitles when transcoding: checked
Edit to add: The forced subtitles work when I play the same video on VLC Player, so it's not a transcoding issue.

What does "don't show at all" mean? You can see them as an option? Or aren't displayed when selected? What kind of subtitles are they? SRT? PGS?

Subtitles are set to always on. So long as people are speaking English, I get subtitles, but the moment they switch to a foreign language, where English subtitles would normally be shown even if subtitles were turned off, there are no subtitles whatsoever.
I don't know what kind of subtitles are being used. It shows both DVDSUB and ASS files available, but I also found a message that said the video was being transcoded because the subtitle format was not compatible.

On the command line, can you run ffprobe on this movie? And also share which subtitle track is currently select in the Roku app.
