Bug in Editing Metadata - jeremy211896 - 2025-01-02

I think I found a bug, and it frustrates me. I just installed the newest Jellyfin version in Windows 10, I am a new user just learning it for the first time and I love it! Mostly. But when I scroll through my collection of Shows, and edit Metadata, and save my changes, it returns right back to where I was in the list. But if I do the same thing with my collection of Movies, it saves the changes but jumps back to the top of the list of movies. I was using Chrome browser on my desktop PC. This feels like an annoying bug.

I don't think this is a bug. The page is refreshing after you save the metadata change. I'm assuming you set the max items per page to be really high or "0" (infinite).

I have not changed any display settings, so the number of items in the lists I'm testing are 20-80. I don't really understand your response, this isn't affected by whether I save the Metadata or not, it happens even if I just cancel the changes. But it only happens in my Movies list, not in any Shows lists. Shows lists stay right where they were last, Movie lists jump back to the top. It happens on both my Windows 10 desktop PC, and my Android phone. It's annoying, and I don't understand why anyone would want to have this behavior on movie lists, or anywhere.

I'm attaching a screenshot video of what I'm talking about.

I found a workaround, that if I just click on a Movie to load it's page, then edit Metadata, then use the back arrow, it goes back to the same spot in the list. Still extra work however. I'm going through movies to set tags for which content which of my children will have access to, as parental controls.
