Firestick skip ahead behaviour - HankH - 2025-01-03 Wasn't sure if this was a General Question, or Troubleshooting, so happy to repost if needed. I've been using Kodi, Plex and Stremio on an Amazon firestick for ages and when it comes to skipping ahead they all behave the same way - you click the right edge of the circle on the Firestick remote and the video skips ahead by xx seconds. To go backwards you click the left edge and to get the progress bar you either click the top edge or the button inside the ring. I'm new to Jellyfin - it's great so far and I'd happily never use Plex ever again, except the skip forward behaviour is so different and I'm not sure if it's a setting I'm missing, a bug, or just the way it's supposed to be? When I click the right edge of the ring to skip forward (I've set it to 10 secs) it brings up the progress bar, I then have to click the right edge again to get my 10 secs and then click the centre button to restart playback. If I click and hold the right edge I can FF through the movie, but when I release the right edge the movie is paused and I have to click the centre button to resume playback. This can't be the intended behaviour surely? I have the latest gen firestick, the official JF app from the Firestick app store, and the latest JF server running on Windows 11. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated 🙏 RE: Firestick skip ahead behaviour - TheDreadPirate - 2025-01-03 That is the intended behavior (click confirm to unpause). It is not currently configurable. RE: Firestick skip ahead behaviour - HankH - 2025-01-03 Well, not really what I was hoping to hear, but at least I know now! Thanks for confirming. I guess I'll get used to the extra clicks, as I can't face going back to Plex. Even the external video player option isn't ideal, so vanilla JF it will be. |
