I'm not quite sure what I'm missing.

I'm on linux mint 22.2 and every since the last set of updates. Jellyfin is constantly running ffmpeg and extracting all the subtitles till it fills up my root directory. I have gone into the settings for each library and shut off everything I can find regarding subtitle extraction and I have set the settings to save the subtitles in the folder with the media. All my permissions have been set up correctly and Jellyfin does save nfo files and pics into the media folders.

What am I missing Why does Jellyfin seem to be ignoring all my settings? So for the only thing I can do is go in and delete the data/subtitle folder which fixes the issue for about a week.

    Thanks

I can't offer a fix but I can say it's not just you. Yesterday I upgraded from 10.10.7 to 10.11.1, and overnight my subtitles folder grew from 2.5GB pre-upgrade to 23GB, and filled up my drive, preventing user login. I had to bounce the server and wipe the subtitle folder.

From looking at my logs this definitely happened when the "Extract Subtitles" scheduled task ran. For now I am leaving the task disabled and tentatively hopeful my drive will not fill again.

This is intentional - see the response to the issue I filed: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-plu.../issues/55

There is an open pull request to add some configuration options, but for now this is how it works so the only way to disable this behavior will be to disable the "Extract Subtitles" scheduled task.
