Every 1440p vp9 video I download is being detected as 1080p in jellyfin, despite playback being 1440p.

Is this a known issue, and is there a fix or way for me to manually edit it?

I believe the "video" field here takes the "title" of the video stream, in your case the title of the video stream is 1080p VP9 SDR, so this makes sense.

This is probably intentional, as the Video field becomes a dropdown to select multiple versions, when they are present.

as for fixing it, I think editing the source file metadata for the video stream would be the best way.

edit: did not mean to mark this as solution, sorry about that.

The only way to fix it is to repackage the video after changing the embedded title of the video stream.
You can do so with MKVToolNix.

thinking more about it tho, the video field usually gets changed to some regex capture of the resolution when multiple versions are used, so maybe an argument could be made to change the display to some combination of resolution and bitrate fields?
