I finally seem to have 10.11.5 running after deleting a large home video / photos library.
I’m now trying to slowly add this back using the home video / photo library type as I used in 10.10.7. Added a small folder first as a test.
The library scan seems to complete fine but when I then try to actually go in to the library to view I can see the top level folder after 5-6 seconds but when trying to go in to that folder I just get the spinning circle and don’t get any further. I’ve seen others had suggested using the Music Video type works for them so I deleted the library and tried that with another successful full scan but again I cannot get into the folder.

    The structure is:

Library - Folder A - (containing folder level 2) then each level 2 folder has 2 or 3 other folders.

I can see Folder A but can’t see the folders it contains

    Edit to add:

Seems to be with a small number of folders / files it loads (still slower than 10.7) but the more that are added the slower it gets and loading the folder before it never loads. Also even when it does work with the smaller number it doesn’t generate any thumbnails for the videos?

Been having similar issues as well.

I have several libraries configured as home videos. Under 10.10.xx those libraries would load within a second. Now, after upgrading Jellyfin to 10.11.xx said libraries take over 30 seconds to load up, even more so on TV client.

Tried using the music video option as well and same thing happen.

I hide to downgrade back to 10.10 and will continue using it until hopefully this issue is solved. Most of my media are not movies or TV shows so for me, the home video option is priority.

    Good day.

Yeah for me on 10.7 they would load within 5-10 seconds. On 11.5 with a few folders they load in 20 seconds, but after adding more it got to 6 minutes loading and I gave up.

Last time I tried the upgrade (11.2) the server wouldn’t stay up, the process would quit within a couple of minutes of a library scan. Thankfully 11.5 has fixed this and the other library types I use (TV / film - not the mixed one) work slightly faster than before.

I have been tempted to go back to 10.7 again but given clients are already starting to stop support for it (family member uses the Xbox app) I’d have to go to this eventually even though currently is functionally not as good. At least this time it does actually run at all but around 40-50% of my media needs the home video type so it’s pretty disappointing. I may

What I don’t understand is why there doesn’t seem to be any sort of urgeny to fix the home video type. Surely this type is one of the more “legitimate” uses of the server!

I’m really hoping for some improvement in 11.6 or else I may have no choice but to go back and just deal with the fact some clients just won’t be able to use it. Either that or find another media server as functional and stable as 10.7 but with current support!

The page freezes when opening the music video media library—loading continues indefinitely. Page navigation also doesn’t work. I’ve tested this with a clean server installation: a small number of video folders displays correctly, but the interface hangs when there are around 1,000 folders. Additionally, I noticed that everything works smoothly when folder names are in English, but it freezes if the folder names contain non-English characters. There are no errors in the logs.
