    Hi !

during last time i inserted an A380 to use it for en/decoding instead of internal CPU (i7 8700)
the "funny" thing is ok its not really funny) my power consumption in idle mode rised from 30 watt nearly to 50 watt.
Is this normal ?  i remember my old system and when i inserted a GT730 the consumption was rising by 8 watt in idle mode. Amd this was years...
I also read several guides and played around with BIOS Setting etc... but w/o success..
Is there anything i can do in the system to bring the power down some watts ?

    Ciao Gerd

Intel GPUs tends to have higher idle power and enabling ASPM can help mitigate that but not all motherborads' ASPM implementation is good and therefore that may or may not help

That would be a settings you need to change in the BIOS of your motherboard.

Hmm ok i played al little around and as long as i do not log on into the GUI (ubuntu 24.04) its stayss very low (i switched of onboard GPU in Bios)
before with onboard GUI in Bios it was around 25 Watt. now (not logged on) its about 29 Watt.
If i log on i have 49 Watts... screen blank does not have an effect.

    Ciao Gerd
