I'm building out my jellyfin instance around my home automation system Home Assistant. One area of interest is access to photos/home videos as oldskool photo albums are a thing of the past and so presenting these via the beautiful Jellyfin platform would be great. I'm on Android using Google Photos but they're a similar platform for iOS obviously. Is there any way to access photos / videos:
    1) that live on Google Photos from Jellyfin
    2) From a local copy (accessible via the LAN) of selected photos / videos (no idea how I'd sync that to the LAN) but that's probably another discussion

I don't think so, unless you have a permanent local copy.

You can select a local or NAS folder within the Jellyfin interface. Jellyfin of course needs access to that folder.

You should also check out Immich. It is a self-hosted photo platform similar to Google Photos.

Ok that may make sense. I assume given it's self hosted I have access to the images on the LAN and hence it should be available to Jellyfin. Will look into that
