Three updates ago I was able to see and connect to my Jellyfin server from my Sony BDP-S6700 BlueRay player. The Sony Player lists all of the media servers it can discover and allows you to choose the one you want. I had two servers available to the Sony Player one is my Synology DS923 and the other was Jellyfin that runs as a container on my DS923.
The Sony player was able to discover the Jellyfin Server I installed as a container onto my Synology NAS running DSM 7.2. As of two updates ago (4-6 months ago) the Sony is not able to discover the Jellyfin server anymore. The Player does not have the sophistication to allow you to manually add a media server. If it doesn't find it automatically than it can't be found.
Is it possible to add in the Dashboard> Devices section, a way to manually add the IP address of a new media player (like my BlueRay) into the list of devices? My Sony Bluray is unable to transcode some of my movies when playing them directly through my Synology Media Server, but when I had the Jellyfin Server those movies could play with no problem.
If there is a way to recoonect my Sony Player to my Jellyfin Server I haven't found it.
