    Hi there

Brand new to Jellyfin and IPTV in general so please bare with me. I've got a few questions so likely you'll see a few post from me. But for now...

I have set up Jellyfin on my PC and all is working fine. I downloaded the Android app and tried connecting. When my Avast anti virus/firewall is disabled I can connect perfectly. When it's active my android cannot connect.

I tried adding the Jellyfin.exe as a trusted application but it's still not working.

Has anyone had any experience with allowing connections while Avast is active? Or any firewall tips in particular?

    Thanks in advance!

instead of using an application rule try creating a network rule allowing 8096
(or the port jellyfin is using if not default)

Thanks, 8096 is my default port. I tried to make the following change in Avast but it still didn't allow the connection (server cannot be found):

    "server cannot be found"

cannot be found by discovery or cannot be connected to even if you manually enter the address?

    Both.
As mentioned connects fine with firewall disabled. Just need to figure out how to configure my firewall to let it connect while it's active.

If firewall is on first then no it won't connect. Even if I did connect to Jellyfin before activating the firewall I don't want to have to manually enable/disable it every time I want to use the app.

    I managed to fix this!

My network is labelled as Unidentified network which connects to my router:

Within Avast I had to make Unidentified Network as trusted:

Now everything works as I would hope :-)
