Is there a way for Jellyfin to use the .nfo as created by TMM to display the languages of the movie along with other info that is displayed from said .nfo ?

    Thanks

I'm assuming you mean the language of each audio track, right?

If so, I believe that audio language is pulled when ffprobe analyzes the track. Looking at the NFO parser code, it looks like language can be read from the NFO for subtitles? But not audio?

Weird omission if my interpretation is correct.

No, I know that Jellyfin will pull the language via ffprobe, but that is a massive assumption that the movie files even contain that information - as you can tell mine do not.

However when I run the files though TMM and create a .NFO the language is inserted into it's .nfo like this ==> <languages>English</languages> and I was wondering perhaps it's a would be possible in the future if the admin wants, is to use the .nfo and display whatever the language is by referencing the language between those tags and insert it on the movie card.

Even better if that could also be edited from the Jellyfin GUi.

at the moment I am having to use a python script to inject the language from the .nfo into the <tags> part of said .nfo so that is visible on the card.

I'm not very good at explaining it, but I hope you get the gist.

Could it be possible to create a custom CSS to pull and display language from the .nfo and display it ?

    Thanks

Ps. To use some kind of software to remux the files would take forever so I don't really want to do that.

Your explanation makes sense, but AFAICT Jellyfin just doesn't read the language tag in NFOs for audio tracks. Custom CSS wouldn't change anything if the server never reads the audio language tag from the NFO to begin with.

Do you think it is worth persuing this with the dev team for a future implementation ? or is this just too niche .

    Thanks.
