10.11.2 installed on Windows.  Program Data, Logs, and Web on C: ; Cache, Image Cache, Metadata, Transcodes on D: (media on a NAS mounted as Z: ).  When I generated my trickplay images, it put them on the C: drive, which is much smaller than D: where I want them.  I assumed they would end up in the Metadata folder on D: but that didn't happen.  Was there a setting I missed somewhere or this behaving as intended?  Is it changeable?

I can't specifically tell you how to put trickplay images on D:, but can offer one option that in your case would put the trickplay images on your Z: drive since Jellyfin does allow you to store trickplay images at the same location as the media.  Under server settings -> Libraries, find the library that you want to change and click on the three dots at the bottom right of the library, then go to "Manage Library", then find "Save Trickplay Images Next To Media", check the box next to that option, and click save.  It will be a good idea to restart Jellyfin, and I'm pretty confident you will need to regenerate trickplay images.

(I'm not on Win, but a quick google confirms the default trickplay storage location is C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Jellyfin\config\metadata\library.)

Thank you.  I knew about the option to store with the media, but was trying to avoid throwing the images on the HDDs in the NAS vs. the SSDs in the server.

I agree that the default trickplay would be on C:, but since I have my metadata specifically on the D: I am surprised it didn't also put the trickplay images there.  From what I can tell, it is putting the images in the Program Data folder rather than the Metadata folder.

That is odd. Every reference I can find says that the default trickplay location should be with the metadata - though I don't see it specified in the official documentation.

Are you able to identify a unique folder/directory where the trickplay images are being stored? The actual trickplay images are .jpg files that you should be able to open with any image viewer, and when opened you should see a grid of images (most likely 10x10) from whatever show the trickplay images have been extracted. The directory structure may include a "trickplay" folder or folders that end with ".trickplay".

If you are able to identify a unique parent folder that contains all of the trickplay content (and nothing but the trickplay content) then you should be able to move that folder to your desired location on your D: drive, and then create a symlink from the original location on your C: drive to the new location on your D: drive. I'm guessing this is how you already moved your Jellyfin metadata?
