Best OS to install Jellyfin

To get the feel of JF, I did a install on a RPI 4 about 1.5 years ago.  I now want to do an install on a Dell optiplex i7-7 gen machine that has a 500GB ssd and 32GB 4th gen RAM. I have experience with a number of linux distros and have run a  number of websites on Ubuntu server and my workstation is running Debian.  
What OS does Jellyfin run on with the least problems when running and most robust behavior? (I am assuming the server version is best?) What are the components that should be installed when doing the OS install? e.g. Apache, SQL, etc.) What OS provides the easiest installation?  (Does the jellyfin install for Debian install debian or any components that may be missing?)

A related question: I am thinking of installing a 6TB HD in the optiplex  to store the videos/pictures/music and backing it up periodically to my OMV that is running on my NAS. 
Another approach is to keep the videos/pictures/music on my NAS, and back up that disk to my next cloud server or a USB disk on the NAS.

Comments on where to store the content? Currently the Optiplex doesn't have the local disk for the content so the OMV is the easiest thing to store the content. Will this be an issue when I do get a large HD installed on the optiplex?

I've only used Windows so can't comment on any other methods but it's been good and bad. However 1 6TB hard drive will not be a lot of media, unless you don't actually want much. The Optiplex running your server should be fine but storage expansion will need to be considered.

I installed Jellyfin bare metal on ubuntu 24.04 server without a GUI interface, using SSH to install BASH install script. This old Dell 7050 has been sitting in a corner of the room headless, I just SSH into it from time to time to do apt updates and upgrades. No issues. There is a 500gb NVMe boot drive for ubuntu and jellyfin and all my data is on my NAS.
Pretty painless, easy to maintain without levels of complexity.

 I am running "Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS" Server on a Minisforum UN100L mini PC (based on Intel N100).

Previously I was running Jellyfin on a Raspberry PI 4 running debian bookworm.
I was having performance problems and jellyfin developers discourage running on Raspberry PI.
So, I bought the Mini PC.

I initially tried debian Trixie on the Mini PC but I could not get hardware transcoding to work because debian had old version of the intel GPU drivers.
On a hunch I switched to ubuntu and found it had newer intel GPU drivers which allowed me to enable hardware transcoding.

On the Mini PC ubuntu is installed on a 240GB nvme SSD. My video library is on an external USB 2 TB drive.

Contrary to recommendations, the external drive is formatted ntfs.
We have frequent power outages lasting several hours to several days.
When the power is out I can plug external drive into a windows laptop and watch movies using VLC.
