Greetings. I'm trying to figure out how change the order of videos. I am a huge fan of Babylon 5. However the air date order is less than optimal versus the original Strackzynski order. Unfortunately, 16 episodes were shown out of order, and there was an interspersing of the movies within the stories. Unfortunately, the DVDs are in airing order.

So I would like to re-order the episodes according to the Lurker's guide at http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/countries/...plist.html. I think that I could probably rename the files to re-order the episodes, but shuould I create a collection or a playlist to interleave the movies into the list?

    Thanks,

I'd recommend a playlist as the Collections system can get confused if you mess around with it too much (in my experimentation).

This is what you are looking for. Using the TVDB provider [tvdbid-70726].
Make sure theTVDB plugin is installed.

Name your movie "extras" to this and place then in Season 00

The order your looking for is in the TVDB metadata as "Streaming", they state use "Alternate" order in Jellyfin.

In Jellyfin go to your tvseries library and click the three dots on the poster, change "Edit metadata". Go down the list change display order to Alternate.

    Rescan the library/show.

Example of movie position from tvdb metadata. S00E03 Thirdspace

This will get you the Lurker's Guide order. (as close as possible)

    .

Expoert the metadata to .nfo, edit those with notepad, change the season and episode order to hwat ever your liking is, save, rescan, enjoy.

Trying to rely on scrapers and collection ethods and playlists to mange things like this for you with as little hands on as possible will cost you more time and frustration than just doing it yourself once, saving and moving on.

Thank you, Gentlemen. I will play around with these. I don't have a problem inserting the movies in to the play order, it is just it would make it so much easier to get the order right in with the episodes. Especially, for instance, with Crusade and Firefly, where the networks just aired them in whatever willy-nilly order they felt like, storyline be damned.

Soooo, here is another silly question (I'm still relatively new to a working setup), how do you export metadata? I was going to try @KodiUser1138's method on Firefly and @alleycat's on Crusade, just to compare and contrast.

Interesting thing is that they have a streaming setting for Babylon 5, but not for Crusade.

And under Metadata, not only do they have Alternate, but they also have "Story Arc"...

The interesting thing is that the only watch order that has the correct order (including the movies) is the Absolute list. However, absolute makes it one gigantic "season."
