Can’t remove auto generated poster image

A movie was added when my jellyfin server had no internet connection. So it generated a poster image using frames from the video. I tried to delete it and add a new one using the web client several times and it works for a few munutes only. Eventually the ugly poster comes back.

How can I delete it for good?

For the movie rescan it and "replace all metadata" and check "replace all images".
