I have 130 playlists that show up in Jellyfin music. I also see them when I launch a client able to connect to Jellyfin (e.g., Feishin).

They are all empty. I have no idea how they got there in the first place.

I cannot figure out how to delete these. I've manually deleted them - both in the Jellyfin web app, Mac app, client apps - they appear to delete but then show up again.

I looked through my folder hierarchy and do not see any playlists there.

I am stumped. How can I get rid of these?

    Edit:

There were a bunch of .m3u files in various music folders. I don't know how they got there. But I found all of them and deleted them - and the problem is gone. Now I see new playlists showing up in the /data/data/playlists folder where they belong.

What OS is the server running? If you look at the metadata for the playlists, does it tell you where they are located?
    Jellyfin 10.10.3 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB

unRAID - running in a Docker container

I didn't know about the metadata!

Seems like there are a bunch of stray .m3u files spread out over my collection.
Jellyfin must be picking them up again each time it scans.
For some reason (permissions?) - JF cannot delete the playlist.

I will write a python script to find them and remove them. Hopefully that will do it.

    Thanks for the help.
