Hi, any update on this? I'm having a similar issue.
I'm trying to migrate from plex and I have folders to group movies for example:

    - Movies/DC/
    - Movies/Marvel/
    - Movies/Star Wars/

For some reason ONLY the content inside DC is not recognised on Jellyfin. I tried changing the name to something random but is not working.
Also I added the subfolders to the library, didn't work either.
If I remove it from the folder works, but the other "Franchise" folders have a tone more content that the DC one and works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

Is each movie in their own folder? How are the files named? I'm assuming when you say that you tried adding the subfolder you mean that you add "Movies/DC/" to the library config.

Each movie is a single .mkv file with the name following plex/jellifin suggestions (basically the same).
    My Structure looks like this

    Movies/DC/Batman/...single file movies
    Movies/Marvel/Avengers/...single file movies

The only folder that isn't working is the "DC"

    - Tried moving "Movies/DC/Batman" folder to "Movies/Marvel" and it works

I just found a weird behavior:
-If the folder "Movies/DC/" have only folders inside it works.
-If the folder "Movies/DC/" have folders and multiple files on the root it works too.
-If the folder "Movies/DC/" have folders and a single file on the root don't ready any folder, only read the root file.

I added a random extra movie to the root of "Movies/DC/" and everything works.
I tried on other folders and works the same. The only folder I had with a single file on the root was "Movies/DC/" ....so I guess I need more DC movies 🤣

    Anyways is super weird

Ah. Jellyfin sometimes behaves weirdly when there is only one item in something. One item in a library, one item in a folder, one song in an album, etc. Pretty sure this "one item" problem was fixed in 10.9. But glad you figured it out.

I'm using the latest version but at least I know how to workaround it.

10.9 is the unstable version that is unreleased, but is just around the corner.
