Closed Captions

For about the past month or so, about 80% of the time I use the Jellyfin app on my Roku, I see 2 sets of captions on my program or movie. The language is the same, one is a nicer font, and right behind it is the same text with a different font. I have to use the up button on the roku to the CC button and turn it off there, and then the screen then only shows one caption.

This does not happen all of the time, but started fairly recently and happens about 80% like I mentioned. If I am watching a program on the Roku, I already mentioned how to manually fix that instance. If I pause the program and come back later after the Roku timed out and went into sleep mode, when I return to finish watching the same program, the double captions appear again.

I don't know if one set are from the Roku device and the other from Jellyfin???, but regardless, I have not figued out how to solve this.

Any ideas?

It appears to be a known bug.

There is a 3rd party Roku app called JellyRock. Give it a try.
