Collections not working

I am chiming in here as I have the same (or very similar) issue since recently.

Until recently I had a lot of collections in the collections library which I was able to edit and view. They are somewhat gone now. I can still see some of them in the movies list but they have disappeared from the dedicated library and I cannot ad any more movies to them. The collection folder is filled with sub folders, images and xml files which looks to be in order.
I would not mind rebuilding my whoule database but I don't know how and there is no dedicated admin option to do so. Doing a full metadata refresh does not work.

For the last while I have been running 10.11.5 (or have been updating within days of release).

Attached are screenshots from my collections library (with the eternal loading indicator), the system folder with the collections, a working collection and movies that should be in a collection but are not (collections in the movie library are on and working for some collections).

Hello, I've recently had this issue, not sure if it will solve it for you too but I fixed it by;

Go in to dashboard
Select Users
Three dots on your profile and select library access
Tick collections

This then allowed me to add and remove films from collections

Fingers crossed it fixes it for you too.

I had a similar situation. My collections library took forever to load. I decided to start over and deleted collections. After deletion my Dashboard showed I still had 3,900 in collections but there was no library. I had installed the Studio Curator plugin earlier but had uninstalled it as I wasn't using it. Uninstalling it did not undo what the plugin did to my system which was to create a library of studios. Turns out Studios was showing as collections and causing it to slow down. I deleted the Studios library. Seems ok now
