    Hey folks,

I have this strange issue on my Bravia 9 (Android TV), that some 4k movies have "dark bars" inside the movie.
When watching the exact same file on my AppleTV 4K it does not show them.
I think this issue is somehow created on the internal app, because watching the file on the PC does also not show this bars.

I am assuming this movie is Dolby Vision?

Yes, this movie has DV. But I watched a lot of DV on my Bravia 9 and Jellyfin and never had this issue before.

It depends on the movie. Dolby Vision 7 and 8 are both built on top of HDR10 and use additional metadata to dynamically change the HDR10 base layer.

The Dolby Vision metadata can have a different resolution than the base layer, leading to this situation where some component is matching the two together.

Do you know if this is transcoding or direct playing? And what kind of Dolby Vision is this video? I'm assuming Dolby Vision 8.

Under media info it shows: Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 (HDR10)
It is directly playing without any transcoding.
When watching the exact same file on my AppleTV and also with DV enabled I do not have this issue.

What server version are you running? And what version of the Android TV app?

I recall this issue in older versions, that I thought was resolved.

I run the latest server Version 10.10.0 and I guess the latest AndroidTV version, at least I loaded it from the appstore on my SonyTV.

Can you check a couple settings in the Android TV jellyfin app?

Settings > playback > advanced playback settings > Refresh rate switching

What is that currently set to?
