Different images on Details page and Recently Added

Using CSS or some other method, is it possible to have one image shown in the "Recently Added" list on the main page and a different image shown when going into the details of media?
I've tried uploading the different images as the Primary, Thumb, Backdrop and so on, but always seems to only show the Primary image in the 2 places I want.

Bonus question - if so, can they be in different orientations? (e.g portrait in Recently Added and landscape in Details)
