Does sort order work for anyone?

I noticed that sort order doesn't work properly on many shows and wondered if others have similar issues?

When Pilot episode is a special and located in Special season, it seems to refuse to play the content first, but will always start with season.

That is despite setting metadata to Sort order "Aired" or "Original Air Data".

Example:
Little House on the Prairie Pilot episode is in Specials/Little House on the Prairie - S00E01 - Pilot (Air date Mar 30, 1974)
Season 1/Little House on the Prairie - S01E01 - A Harvest of Friends (Air date Sep 11, 1974).

No matter what I try it refuses to play special before Season 1.
Only work around I found is moving the special into Season 1 and calling it S01E00.

This is a bad workaround, because other series might have multiple episodes before Season 1.

Has anyone else run into this issue or found a proper solution to this?

Running the latest version of Jellyfin v10.11.6
There should be no issue with structure, using Sonarr to generate proper structure.
Tried TVDB, TheMovieDB and The open Movie Database as metadata providers.

There is metadata for Display Season and Episode. That will put the special into it's place within the regular episode run. How that works with your play all function I don't know as I don't use that.

Edit the metadata for the pilot episode, Little House on the Prairie - S00E01 and add the following

   

Then when you click on the "play all" button on the main season poster it should play s00e01 first.
Most of the time this is picked up automatically by the metadata provider (tmdb or tvdb), but sometimes the metadata provider has is listed as a movie not an series episode like in this case.
