I would like to archive my DVD's as ISO's and play them over the network and have them look as if I am playing it from the DVD player but on jellyfin. I notice every time I bring this up some persome wants me to strip the videos from the DVD. basically if we could stream the DVD from the DVD software to the end client that would be the best. Does this make sense ????

I don't think this will work without jumping through a lot of hoops using ad-ons and external players. Jellyfin and plex are best used to play movie's from mp4/mkv files. You could try something like Kodi i think it may be able to do what you want. have not used so can't be sure.

I have a collection of DVDs, both commercially sold and ones I’ve recorded. I use MakeMKV (on my ThinkPad running Linux Mint) which quickly and seamlessly creates .mkv files of each. Now I can put any one I want into my Jellyfin Movies Folder and watch them at ease.

I beleave they want there iso fils to work just like the dvd. with menus and everything. not just ripping the movie and discarding the rest

Ah, thanks for your clarification. Using .iso files this way is new territory for me. Anyway, I think MakeMKV is still a Great tip for those just needing to simplify using physical discs…
