I recently expanded my custom Movie Recommendations page with a more flexible filtering panel.
Movies can now be filtered using a dual-range IMDb slider from 5.0 to 10.0, a release-year range from 1900 to the current year, and a selectable genre list. After choosing the preferred filters, the system creates a randomized selection of 12 matching movies. The “Another recommendation” button generates a fresh set while avoiding immediate repetitions, and a reset button restores the default filters.
The layout was designed for desktop, mobile and Smart TV use. The sliders have large touch-friendly handles and can also be adjusted with directional controls. The latest recommendation list and filter settings are remembered separately for each user within the same browser profile or application.
Series Recommendations keep their simpler layout, but now use stronger full-library randomization, an IMDb minimum of 6.0 and extended repeat protection.
I also finalized the SD, HD, UHD, HDUB and HSUB badges. They are now a stable and consistent part of the movie and series card layout rather than an experimental feature that changes between revisions.
The recommendation cards continue to display the title, IMDb score, trailer button, genre, release year and runtime in a responsive layout.
