External Disks on Linux

Hi everyone.
                 At present I run a Plex Server and a Jellyfin Server on windows 11. I have four external drives connected and both systems access and use them. This is not the problem.
The problem is that with expectations to speed up access to these disks I want to just run Jellyfin but on a Ubuntu Server rather than windows 11. 
                 To this end I have installed Ubuntu Server on a new computer and have installed and set up Jellyfin using SSH. Logging into a browser to install and set up Jellyfin, I find I that I cannot access any of these external drives.
                  Can anyone advise what the problem might be?

I thought that might be what I needed to do just after I posted this. Thanks for the info and guide I am using that advice to do what I had wanted to do with those disks.
