Tried it on 2 systems. movie start out great. Then freezes 30-60 seconds in
Base Files
Same movie different sources, both 1080p remux, both come with 7.1 audio and just the audio needs to be transcoded
machine 1 Unraid, 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-13600K @ 3500 MHz, transcoding to ram. Can verify quicksync is working when I transcode down
The video stream is compatible with the device, but has an incompatible audio format (DTS, Dolby TrueHD, etc.) or number of audio channels. The video stream will be repackaged losslessly on the fly before being sent to the device. Only the audio stream will be transcoded.
Power consumed by direct streaming usually depends on the audio profile. Only the video stream is lossless.
machine 1 setup 1
file stored locally, playing through home network. 10gbps link to switch that feeds down to a 1000mbps to laptop
machine 1 setup 2
file is on a 2nd nas, same thing but 10gbps link from both nas units to same switch
Machine 2 setup 1
my laptop
core i5 13520H no ram transcoding but SSD. Kingston gen 4 NVME
same results if the source is on NAS 1, NAS 2 or on same machine as jellyfin
All are using the latest jellyfin release at time of posting.
