I’m needing to upgrade my setup, I think, to support three streams instead of one.

Right now, I have an Intel NUC with a Gen 5 i5 processor, integrated graphics, and 16GBs of RAM.  I repurposed this when I set it up originally.  It’s done well for me, but I think I need an upgrade.

What’s the best hardware to support three streams?  (HD / 4K movies and TV Shows) I’m just not sure what I need, and I don’t want to spend buying hardware that is overkill for my needs.  Jellyfin is all this runs.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

your consideration of budget gives me pause, generally decide what you need then decide how to get it to fit your budget

anyway, since you like MiniPCs i could recommend this or similar https://store.minisforum.com/products/pr...forum-nad9

and you can check the hardware selection guide https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/admini...-selection

generally jellyfin likes intel based GPUs (or iGPU)

The most cost effective upgrade is to put an Intel Arc GPU in there and call it a day. An Arc A310 is less than $100 and the more widely available A380 is like $120. Will blow your iGPU out of the water and has AV1 encoding support for when Jellyfin 10.9 is released.

Nah, it’s not even a budget consideration.  More like I’m not looking for hardware recommendations that will support my whole town, just the best thing I can get for three streams.  Bad wording on my part probably.

Yeah. IMO, just get an Intel Arc GPU and call it a day. Cheap, fast AF, has AV1 encoding.
