    Morning all.

Until recently, I have been using Kodi to view all my media (on 4k Firesticks).

I use TVHeadend to record all my TV (and watch Live TV) but then used Jellyfin server to scrape the recordings.

As such, I installed both the TVHeadend addon and Jellyfin addon to Kodi.

However, I am giving the Jellyfin client a go for the first time - I find that Kodi has too many options and I just want to simply play back my recorded video and watch Live TV.

Everything seems to be working so far, except for the TVHeadend plugin for Jellyfin.

When I am streaming Live TV, my server's CPU shoots up from about 1% to 40%.

However, when I watch scraped recordings, the CPU remains barely above.

When I used to used Kodi for watching Live TV, the CPU barely moved above 1%.

I think I need to change a few settings but am not quite sure what and where - i.e. is it a setting in Jellyfin Server or TVHeadend?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have attached photos of my current TVHeadend set up, in case it is relevant - do I perhaps need to make any changes here?

Most if not all streams provided by TVHeadend plugin requires some sort of transcoding to work and if you don't have hardware acceleration it will cause high cpu usage. Can you check if that is really the case?

    Thanks for that.

Is there a way to turn on Hardware acceleration?

Would I do this on the server or on each Firestick?

You would enable hardware acceleration on the server.

    https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/admini...eleration/

Pick the guide for your GPU/iGPU vendor.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1
