I've been using the opensubtitles plugin and been getting mixed results.

First I created an account and also obtained an API. Then tried to 'Edit subtitles' for the episode that was missing a subtitle. And it was able to find the subtitle. Then I clicked on Download and it reads Download queued but it never gets downloaded.

Later, I tried doing a manual Library scan. Then I checked my opensubtitles account's download history and was able to see a lot of subs got downloaded automatically. However, this one TV show that  I have been watching wasn't detected for subtitle downloads.

So the API key works. And the subtitles also exist for the one TV show I intend to watch. The question is, why aren't its subs not getting downloaded automatically?

Also, how do you manage missing subtitles? Is there another catalog that might have a different plugin that I can try?

If you have a free account there is a pretty low daily download limit. You may have hit the limit and you have to wait for your daily allocation to reset.

That I suspected as well. However, I had attempted to download my tv show's subtitles before I did a library scan so I ruled out any issues related to daily cap.

Anyway, I fixed my issue by restarting my Jellyfin container and then scanning and replacing metadata only of that tv show.

I also heard good things about bazarr so if I get an issue with opensubtitles plugin again, I'll check out bazarr through a container.
